Planning Ahead: 4 Ways to Prepare Your Business for the New Year
Whether you’re feeling festive or not this year, it’s important for you and your team to feel happy. Especially as we go in to the New Year, you’ll want to keep up morale and productivity.
In less than two weeks, we’ll be in 2020! Obviously you and your team want to go a take a hard earned break, but before that you’ll need to get your business in order. It’s tempting for both you and your team to ease up and slow down a bit, but think how much sweeter that break will be knowing you’ve worked your best to leave your business in good shape for next year. That’s why we’ve come up with four ways to keep up morale and productivity, ready for the New Year.
1. Reward Their Hard Work
Don’t be a scrooge around the festive season (or any other time of year, for that matter). Reward hard work to encourage more of it, rather than simply demanding it. Arrange a festive get together in time for New Year’s so everyone has a chance to let their guard down, blow off some steam and just talk about something other than work – your team has spent all year doing their best so give them a chance to enjoy themselves, and show that you appreciate that.
2. Set Goals and Deadlines
The last thing you want is to go in to the New Year with projects still hanging over you when they should’ve already been completed. Ensure you have a plan in place to finish up any remaining work that needs to be completed by the end of the year. Set reasonable deadlines and goals, and plan out a timeline to ensure everything is completed, so you can all be ready to succeed in the New Year.
3. Prepare in Advance
In addition to ensuring all deadlines are met before the end of the year, you’ll want to be ready to get back in January. Ensure you set a plan in place to hit the ground running when the New Year starts, so there’s no sudden drop in productivity when everyone comes back. If you’ve got any January Sales promotions that will be running, you should ensure any campaigns are ready to run as soon as you get back to business.
4. Make the Most of Your Bespoke CRM
If you’ve not already given the gift of a bespoke CRM, now might be the time to do it. Ensure the New Year gets off to a productive start with automation covering the small tasks while you focus on re-engaging your existing customers with New Year promotions. See how those promotions are bringing in revenue with powerful reports, and make sure you pull out one final report this year to see how business has been in 2019.
With a plan for the New Year in place, deadlines met and a bespoke CRM automating all the smaller tasks, you and your team are ready to celebrate! Go take a well-deserved rest, Lunar will be back in the New Year!
